Domain name system company Dyn has been attacked via DDoS (Denial Of Service)  from some unknown hackers .

US officials are investigating multiple attacks that caused widespread online disruption on both sides of the Atlantic on Friday. On Friday various attacks reported causing huge online disruption on both ways of the Atlantic

Damaged Caused by DDoS Attack ?

Its has been reported that this major DDoS attack took internet’s several reknown websites including Microblogging website Twiteer ,Netflix ,CNN,PayPal,Pinterest & Fox News & some of them are newspapers as well including the Guardian,the New York Times .

Root Cause Of This DDoS Attack ?

The denial of service attack appears to have been focused on Dyn,a major company operates  internet’s domain name system (DNS).

World’s biggest cloud computing company Amazon’s web services  has also faced outage which is considered to be lasted for few hours in the morning on Friday. Although Dyn’s director of internet analysis said he is not confirmed that outages in Dyn & Amazon have any relation.No comments have been received from the Amazon.

First Attack

The company wrote on its website that they came to know this just after 7 AM ET on Friday,the word to word explanation is here -“We began monitoring and mitigating a DDoS [distributed denial-of-service] attack against our Dyn Managed DNS infrastructure”.

Second Attack & Third Attack

while the Company was updating the situation continuously suddenly they confirmed second & third attack around 4 PM.

The company said they are still trying to figure out that what caused the outage,executive vice-president Scott Hilton said “Our first priority over the last couple of hours has been our customers and restoring their performance”

Meanwhile,not any group or any individual has taken credit for the DDoS attack

DNS(Domain Name System) is getting older technologies that the industry needs to update,and these two factors (1)one-factor authentication (password-only security) (2)unencrypted web connections .
